Muttley Monday & My Day Made

Doesn't he look cute with a dirty nose?
...burying bones.  I always think it is funny when he comes in the house with a dirty nose after I gave him a marrow bone to "chew and enjoy".  He generally takes it right outside and buries it.  He does it in the winter too, but hides them in the snow instead.  He gets all kinds of surprises come spring when the snow melts, and I am always trying to get the stinking, rotting bone away from him, which he finds very disappointing.

My.Day.Made.

I love when you get surprises at the post office (besides bills) and this morning I got one of the best surprises - a Kona postcard from Bryan from Training Payne.  Thank you so much Bryan, you totally made my day.

Some day I will be in that water on race day...

You rock too Bryan! See you at IMLP, only 271 days away!

Training Today
Well, since I am here writing, I might as well mention what my training plans are for today.

It is going to hurt.

Today my coach has a bike test (for HR, and other stuff) planned for me that I was supposed to do this AM but somehow didn't hear my alarm and got up a little late to get that workout in.  Stupid dark until 7am is messing me up, I almost never miss the alarm.  I was looking forward to getting this on the books early, but alas, it will have to be after work.  I am looking forward to the workout, I really want to have a baseline to work from and actually be able to see my improvements in both HR and fitness levels.  But I think the fluffy bunny cave will be a little hellish today.  The direct quote from Ange "This is hard. Be prepared to work hard."  SO the test will happen tonight after work and I will let ya know how it goes.

Must be the Monday Blues as I had a hard time getting up this morning as well. Change of seasons in full effect and its taking its toll.

That is a great pic in that postcard, and the pic of Bailey is awesome. I have to try to convince my Ginga to just sit for a pic but she is a hyper-hypo and won't just sit for a pic.

LOL, Bailey!! Tucker does the same thing :)

I am wicked proud of you and the training you are doing for the Lake Placid Iron Man!! I would love to come along and experience the crowds. Maybe we could get a group together to go and root you on!! You are truely an inspiration.

I am going to be picking my 15K training back up next week :) Looking forward to it. I just need to find my orange vest so I don't get shot, LOL!!!

Hard to believe only 271 more days until IMLP! Seems like it's still 3/4 of a year away.

Bailey might be the funnest blogger dog I know. He seems like a good boy. What test is it? Can you share?

Good job Bailey! Does he ever dig them back up???

Frankie eats all bones. He swallows them before they fit in his throat too.

Good luck on the test. Put the garbage can next to you. If you don't need it, you didn't go hard enough :)

What's the fluffy bunny cave? ... I don't get it.

Anyway good luck in there ... wear a head-lamp or something ... you won't get lost that way!

Love the pic!

Man my dogs are so Hollywood compared to yours. No bone burying, they know where the stash is in the cupboard. Maybe it's just because they know if they dug in the backyard my wife would kill them, I'm guessing your "backyard" is a bit bigger than mine.

OH man I LOVE that pic of Bailey! I needed something to cheer me up today and that sure helped.

My Kona card is up on my fridge for the duration of the training season.

Love that pic of Bailey! My dog does the exact same thing with his bones. He buries them and then we find them in the spring as rotten messes...yuck!

Good luck with the test!!

x2 on the bones, Baxter did that too. I noticed you covered your mailing address, is that so people like me dont stalk you? :-)

Hey Mandy, take my survey ... maybe twice, once before a coach and then what you feel you will be with a coach.

Cute puppy!

Yeah... only 271 days left, but who's counting? Ha!

There is this strange phenomenon that happens under 100 days. Time suddenly seems to start going very quickly in anticipation of your first Ironman! You'll love it!

Love the Bailey pic! I don't think I've ever known a dog who buries bones... and that's awesome he remembers them in the spring! My family's dogs have always immediately gobbled up whatever we would give them.
