Mud Run

Brooks Infiniti 2's....

Meet the Boise Road...

It doesn't look too muddy, right?  Well, it has warmed up considerably today (yeah, 50's!) so I decided to sneak in a lunchtime run and an afternoon bike ride today.  Good day for it.  I can tell you right now that bike ride is going to be awesome.

Remember back a while ago when I was all happy the Boise Road was open and I said I need to remember to hit it in the morning in the spring?  Here is why:

I took this on the way back from the 9 miler I ran today, it was like this the entire way, a little bit harder work, but man, it was fun.  I really do love getting muddy.

After my run I made a quick check on the other pool in town to see if it was open yet.  It is still closed, this one probably won't be open until May.

I really want to get back out into the open water and swim again.  But it would be a tough go here.

oh yeah, that's some serious mud! I'm surprised your running shoes aren't more trashed than that. I think that road would be lots of fun to mountain bike on! How long before that ice rink melts and you can swim?

I thought they would get more trashed too, but once I got going, I couldn't stop. It is a great road to ride on - I could easily do a century ride all on dirt I think. I HOPE the ice rink melts by mid-April. :)

That mud run sounds like fun, but I know what you mean about it being a little harder. It's tough to lift up shoes caked with mud!!

We can't do open water swimming until May here either. March and April happen to be our 2 snowiest months...ughhh! I hope your snow melts soon!

I love it, the town pool. Not sure about the mud run though. it isn't the dirty factor, it's the thwack, shlup, thwack, shlup of your shoes getting stuck in and then having to pull them out. I'm lazy.

Woah, no kidding on the mud! When will the ice be out on that lake? It looks like you could still walk out on it!

Everytime I stop by, you are doing some more hardcore and crazy then the week before!!

Yeah, the build up on the shoes was a pain in the butt, but it was so gorgeous out! I think I will swim in the pictured pond in May, but my other spot will be good to go in a few weeks I think. I hope.

Too much mud but always better than the boring treadmill. Have a good Easter.
